Komon - The Komodo Dragon
This venomous lizard is only naturally found in the warm islands of the White Archipelago. Huge in size, the komon have bones underneath their gray skins, which act like armor. This creature has a taste for carrion, and is used by some paladins and clerics to track down lairs of the undead. The komon is an expensive companion to maintain, capable of eating their body weight in one sitting, and constantly on the lookout for more food. Although dangerous in the wild, it makes a playful companion.
Although you can find the komon in other parts of Eluan now, it requires special attention if it's in a chilly place, requiring clothing to protect it as its blood is so cold it has been known to freeze in places like the Frost Lands. The Order of Enmehu, an order of paladins and clerics, have adopted the komon as their mascot, and their most influential members have one of the lizards as a companion. The Order is relatively new, appearing in a remote corner of the Lyrian Empire in a town that had been cursed for centuries. A group of five settled in and swore to found an order if they discovered a way to remove the curse. The five clerics soon discovered that a vampire and its minions were the malady affecting the town, not an actual curse. They were only capable of defeating the monsters with the help of a komon who belonged to an adventurer who happened to be there.
