Maincoo - The Maine Coon Cat
Their name means gentle giant in ancient elvish. Their kind originated in the cold winter forests where the elves of the tundra adopted them. They are the largest among the domesticated cats, have thick coats that protect them from harsh winters, and whose tones vary between white, gray, and golden; all with black stripes or patches.
These cats have a gentle disposition, being friendly and curious but independent enough not to become needy of their companion’s attention. This cat is a natural explorer of the cold, which is why they were used as scouts or by them during winter storms or for searching for avalanche survivors. The maincoo, alone amongst cats, have a unique chirping that they use for singing and also to communicate with their companion.
