Angels are the messengers of the gods. Arising during the Disorder, when humanity rebelled against divine domination, angels were common men, who did not abandon their cults and were appointed ambassadors and emissaries of the gods. Their mission? Deter the rebels, particularly the Disciples of Aletheios, from their revolt. Needless to say, angels were hunted as much or more than the gods themselves. Even the divine power that was infused into them with a breath, giving them the power to soar through the air, eternal life, and superhuman strength and abilities did not save them. The remaining angels were abandoned by the gods, who hid in lost temples, and pursued by the Guild. They became ambassadors of extinct nations, men expelled from the human community. Without contact with each other, they became the loneliest creatures ever to exist. Some of those few angels were gripped by a rage fueled by millennia, a hatred that centuries have not been able to dispel.
