Mol - The Mole
Blind, small, and nocturnal. The mol is not a companion meant for the surface, which is why it is a preferred companion of dwarves, deep elves, and other people that inhabit the underground. Mols eat insects and worms, and prefer to move about the earth as they dig.
There are very few examples of mol surviving long periods on the surface, even with the help of their companions. There comes a time when the creature will prefer or need to return to the ground. Mol can obey or follow but are not very smart. Miners and rogues always welcome a mol as a companion. An unnamed guild in Thamarya trains and sells mol as companions for rogues, although they keep this business hidden from the authorities.
