From early on in his life, Sawyer has always had to stick to the shadows, not having the strength necessary to contest with the other beings of the underground, he learned to erase his presence and to meld with the darkness of the sewers. With this, he’s able to move around completely undetected, just as if he wasn't there to begin with. On a fortuitous encounter, he met with the Rat King, who offered a place in his court and the promise of a place in the new Ratdom when the King conquers the surface. A life in the shadows is a difficult one, and Sawyer wishes for a place in the light where he doesn’t have to worry about being strong enough to just survive for another day. So he went with the king, honing his abilities and guarding the sewers from the shadows, disposing of the all too curious beings that happen to wander near the domain of the King.
