Moonk - The Monkey
The moonk is found in jungles, although it is common in circuses or the courts of nobles and wealthy merchants. The creature is covered in coarse brown hair, and spends much of its time grooming, playing, and eating. As a companion, it is sought after by wizards, inventors, and other adventurers that require tool-wielding assistants to help them out.
The moonk is a highly social creature and needs constant company, getting depressed or refusing to eat if separated from its companion for a prolonged period. Howbeit, when together, the moonk will strive to become like its companion, imitating expressions and tinkering with tools it has seen used. This can be beneficial or irksome, although there are many instances where the creatures become efficient assistants or squires to their companions. There's a rumor that during one of the imperial jousts, a halfling knight got food poisoning and could no longer partake. This did not stop his moonk companion, who put on the armor, closed the visor so nobody could see its face, and then participated. It is believed the moonk won the joust, much to the chagrin of the imperial authorities who feared this getting out, and so bribed everyone and never spoke of it again.
