Found everywhere except in extreme deserts or the Frost Lands, the vatt is a nocturnal flying mammal whose name means “hand-shaped wing.” These creatures vary in size, ranging from a few inches to 6 feet, and eat insects, and fruits. The vatt is a pollinator, and many plants and fruits owe their existence and spreading to them.
Scholars and spellcasters like these creatures as companions because they are docile, and their guano is a dynamic component for spells. People who live underground also value them because of their capacity to navigate in total darkness.
